Local Attractions

If you ever need a change of scenery  after relaxing on your patio (eating and drinking can be so wearing) or after taking a cooling dip in the pool; or placing a deck chair under the willow by the lake……….you may feel the need to explore!

We have cycle hire for the energetic and there are miles and miles of beautiful tracks known as chemins, and as we are in the heart of farming country you may meet the occasional tractor, or perhaps a couple of deer. You may decide to cycle to the village for lunch. There are plenty of options.

If you like horse riding there are stables locally, or maybe you would just like to make friends with some of our own horses.

Day tickets may be available if you are booked with a non fishing party (for experienced anglers please)

This is just a small selection of the things to do in the local area.

We are pleased to help and advise when planning, just ask

Nontron- Pretty town, famed for making all sorts of knives. Quaint and picturesque.

Brantome- My favourite place, super riverside restaurants, as the guide books put it.“Charmingly draped along both banks of the river Dronne” Brantome Abbey was founded in 769, and rebuilt in the 16th century, Riverboat tours, the brave can hire a canoe. Drive along the riverbank to Boourdeilles ( about 15 mins) and be stunned by the cliffs and caves. Perhaps take a look round the chateau, whatever your choice, you won’t be disappointed.
